City/AFA tentative agreement--request for information

Council Members:

As you know, the details of the tentative agreement between the City and the Firefighters are still being finalized. The tentative high-level agreement was announced just over a week ago. We all are hopeful that the public and Council will have the proposed text and analysis of the full financial impact soon.

I’m asking staff to provide us with two things as part of the analysis: 1) Updated 5-year forecasts (one if the TRE passes and one if it does not) if this agreement is ratified. 2) What the percent hourly pay increase per year would be under the agreement.

I look forward to working together to reach a final deal with the AFA that is good for firefighters and good for Austin.
