Item 12 - Short Term Rental Regulations

Colleagues,

I will be bringing a motion on Item 12 tomorrow to have renters be included in those eligible to apply for a short term rental license.

As I have been very clear about from the start, displacement prevention is a core concern, not just for me but for the entire D3 team and I am heartened to see so many displacement mitigation measures included on this week's agenda.

Allowing renters to participate in an opportunity that would give them a valuable additional source of income will help prevent displacement in some of our most rapidly gentrifying areas, and where tenants leases allow it I believe City Code should help facilitate that opportunity.
