Item 44: Sexual Assault Related Settlements

Dear Colleagues,

At our meeting tomorrow we will take an important step towards providing healing and justice to some brave sexual assault survivors in our community. As we approve the settlements put forward in item 44, I believe we must affirm our commitment to improve our sexual assault response system. With that in mind, I offer direction to the City Manager to implement the Comprehensive Sexual Assault Evaluation Recommendations forthcoming from PERF and to devote further resources to improve training related to Sex Crimes.
