Colleagues
I wanted to let everyone know that my office is exploring how the city can defer and/or waive fees for people financially suffering from COVID-19.
For example, we are hearing from constituents requesting assistance deferring rent where the city is the landlord, certain business fees related to use of parks, and other city fees that may be business or regulatory related.
As we work with staff on this issue, we will use this Message Board post to let you know about any resolution or other actions that may be needed for Council consideration.
Best Regards and Stay Safe

Re: Waiver of City Rental and Other Fees
Colleagues
The city's disaster declaration serves as the authority to waive city rental and other fees at this point. Currently that declaration extends until May 1st, and any extension will serve to lengthen the time period for these waivers.
We are working with staff on this issue, and will bring a resolution should it be necessary, for Council to consider the extension of waivers through May at least.
Best Regards
