Gender Neutral Access to Diaper Changing Stations Amendments

Colleagues,
Item #8 on next week’s agenda is bringing forward regulations regarding gender neutral access to diaper changing stations. I have two amendments to the posted ordinance that I have discussed and approved with the Law Department and co-sponsors to the original resolution, Mayor Adler and Council Member Harper-Madison. The amendments are as follows:

1:
4-16-22 Diaper Changing Station Required
(A) Except as provided in Subsection (C), each floor of a structure with one or more public restrooms must include the number of compliant diaper changing stations described below:
(1) if the diaper changing station is installed within a gender neutral restroom, at least one diaper changing station shall be provided per floor; or
(2) if the diaper changing station is installed within a gender specific restroom, at least one diaper changing station shall be provided for each gender per floor.
