Colleagues,
As we begin planning for the 2019, the Regional Affordability Committee is looking to fill the vacancy left by CM Troxclair. By ordinance, the Committee is comprised of representatives from Travis and Williamson County governments, area school districts, Cap Metro, Austin Community College, and of course Austin City Council. This is an opportunity to consider issues of affordability from a broad perspective, and in particular those issues that require coordination between multiple jurisdictions. I have found the discussions very helpful and informative. If you have questions about the Regional Affordability Committee, please contact Cynthia Van Maanen in my office, 8-2143, cynthia.vanmaanen@austintexas.gov. If you are interested in filling the vacancy, please comment here. The nomination would have to be ratified by the entire council.
It is also my understanding that we will have a discussion about committee vacancies in an upcoming work session. I just wanted to put this on our radar.
Thanks,
Delia
