First Lady Cecilia Abbott celebrates libraries

Colleagues, thought you'd be interested in this event :: The Texas Center for the Book is moving to the Texas State Library. First Lady Cecilia Abbott opened the short ceremony earlier today at the Archives and Library Building just east of the Capitol, including a book signing and refreshments. The speakers talked about books, reading, libraries and how important they are.
Speakers included local author Sarah Bird and Pat Mora, author and founder of Dia de lost Ninos/Dia de los Libros. The weekend has been especially notable, as yesterday Pat received the Texas Writer Award at the Texas Book Festival.
The Texas Book Festival has become an important national event, and it's a great showcase for our local writers!
