Colleagues –

Thanks for everyone’s participation at the Audit and Finance Committee meeting yesterday. The discussion was really good.

I’m writing to outline next steps.

OFFICE SPENDING POLICY

Yesterday, the Audit and Finance Committee recommended adoption of the proposed Mayor and Council office expense and spending policy recognizing the opportunity for Council to offer amendments at the full Council meeting on January 22nd. I’ve requested that proposed amendments be provided by the end of business on Tuesday so that everyone will have the chance to see them before the meeting on the 22nd. As an item recommended by a committee, this item will not be on the consent agenda.
Again, if you have amendments to the proposed policy, please post those on the message board by close of business on Tuesday, January 20th.

COMPREHENSIVE EFFICIENTY ASSESSMENT

We also had a very good discussion about the proposed Comprehensive Efficiency Assessment ordinance. The goal has been to have this item posted for Council action at the City Council meeting on February 5th. We will have an opportunity to continue discussion on this item during the Work Session on February 3rd.

BOND DECISION TREE

At 1pm on February 3rd, after the Work Session, we will hold a Special Called Meeting of the Audit and Finance Committee. At this meeting, the Committee will discuss and possibly take action on the Bond Decision Tree. My goal is for this item to come to the full Council at our meeting on February 26th.

Thanks,

Kirk
