Council:

Please remember that our goal is to have all proposed budget amendments and IFCs in by 6:00 PM today. A budget amendment is something that changes numbers in the budget--adds to things we need to spend money for or takes out things that cost money. IFCs are policy guidance related to finances and use of money.

Kerri Lang, the Director of Budget and Organizational Excellence, sent an email last Friday. She noted:

"Council amendments are needed for items that are not in the proposed budget or current TRE scenarios. For amendments to the proposed budget, a revenue source or corresponding reduction is needed. If the amendment is a new consideration for the TRE scenarios, no offset or revenue source is required."

Proposed budget amendments can be filed with Katie Stewart in the Office of Budget and Organizational Excellence at katie.stewart@austintexas.gov.

Proposed budget IFCs can be filed with Catie Powers in the Agenda Office at catie.powers@austintexas.gov.

The schedule is for us to each lay out our proposals this coming Thursday, August 7th, during the work session.

At tomorrow's work session, Kerri and her team will walk through the proposed alternative budget scenarios and answer any questions we might have.

Thank you.

Kirk
