Special Called City Council Meeting-8/6/24

Colleagues—
After consultation with the City Manager, I am calling a Special Called Meeting of the Austin City Council on August 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM. The Council will take up one item related to our role in the selection of a new Chief of Police in accordance with Section 143.013 of the Texas Local Government Code.
As you know, we are scheduled to meet on August 6th anyway for a Work Session on the Budget. That starts at 10:00 AM. I anticipate that we will be finished in plenty of time for this Special Called Meeting.
