Invitation to Co-sponsor Item 64 on Transgender Healthcare

Colleagues,

Trans children and families are being denied safe, legal access to lifesaving and medically recommended care, while doctors are being forced to make critical, intimate healthcare decisions under threat of prosecution. Tomorrow, my co-sponsors and I are bringing item 64 to deprioritize criminal and administrative enforcement of our state's transgender healthcare ban, so that our limited resources can be used for serious, real public safety needs and not be coopted for political persecution. While we cannot change state law, we can focus on policies that protect all families and support the hardworking doctors and nurses our city depends on.
