Special Called City Council Meeting - 8/22/2023

Council Members:
As you know, the City Charter and Texas law gives authority to the mayor to declare a disaster under certain circumstances. In consultation with our professional staff, I have exercised my authority to make such a declaration related to wildfires and potential wildfires. A copy of the declaration is attached.

Texas law requires that in the case of such a declaration, the City Council needs to ratify the action for the declaration to last longer than 7 days. As a result, I'm calling a special meeting of the Council for Tuesday, August 22nd at 3:00 PM. We will accommodate those who wish to be present remotely.
